Patronal Festival: The Patronal Festival celebrations are usually held on a Sunday nearer to St. James’ Day (25th July). The church is very well decorated. The Bishop is usually present at this service and he also preaches the sermon and celebrates the Holy Communion. This is followed by a traditional football match between the “Married Men” and “Bachelors”, where the main intention is to have good fun including some good natured leg-pulling, literal and otherwise! A Solemn Evensong is held in the evening. This is followed by a variety entertainment programme, where the various wings of the church take part, this ends with a fellowship dinner.
Harvest Festival: Harvest Sunday is celebrated as a festival of thanksgiving to thank God for the produce of the earth and thr work of our hands and God’ at all times. The festival is celebrated on the third Sunday in November each year and provides an opportunity for the church community to take stock of all that God has given us and to accountable to Him for all our resources. Offerings of fruits, vegetables, processed food and items of daily use are made during the service. After the service there is an auction and the proceeds used for the various programs of the church.
