Easter Cantata

The much awaited Easter Cantata this year was held on the Saturday the 18th in the St. James’ Church at 6.00 p.m.

The Cantata entitled “The Glory of Easter” by none other than John W Peterson the famous and renowned American Christian Music Composer, was performed by the ‘Voices for Peace from Combined Churches’ conducted by Shanu Banerjee, Choir Master and Organist of St. James’ Church, and accompanied by Hamish Hossain on electronic keyboards.

The choir consisted of 35 choristers both male and female. The audience comprising of people from various walks of life was a mixture of young and old well appreciated the performance. Over a fellowship of a cup of soup (courtesy the WFCS of St. James’ Church) on the church porch there was a lot of interaction between audience and the choir members.

We thank God for voices and talents, making the performance one of its kind and truly proclaiming the “Glory of Easter” in all its glorious pomp and joy!
